Paediatrics ST3 - Specialty Specific Application Form Questions

These are the UK Specialty Training application form questions used on Oriel for applications to Paediatrics ST3 higher specialty training. These are the application form questions used for posts advertised in November 2023 with a start date from August 2024.
 
The questions are presented here to help you prepare for your future applications. Please be aware application form structures, questions, word counts, etc. can change and there is no guarantee that future application forms will remain the same.

1. PAEDIATRIC EXPERIENCE

Please clearly list these posts in your employment history

Do you have at least 12 months’ experience of working in Paediatrics; this must include at least 6 months in Neonatology at the point of application and 6 months in General Paediatrics (not including Foundation modules) at point of application? (Yes | No)

2. MRCPCH QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered for ST3 you must demonstrate having achieved success in two of the three theory exams (Foundation of Practice (FOP), Theory and Science (TAS), Applied Knowledge in Practice (AKP)) by time of application and within the last 7 years.

4. NEWBORN LIFE SUPPORT COURSE

Have you successfully completed a Newborn Life Support (NLS) or equivalent? Please note this is not mandatory for application  (Yes | No)

5. LEVEL 2 SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN

Do you have a valid Level 2 Safeguarding Children: Recognition and Response in Child Protection (or equivalent) certification? Please note this is not mandatory for application  (Yes | No)

6. ADDITIONAL UNDERGRADUATE DEGREES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Please list any additional completed undergraduate qualifications with dates. Include intercalated BSc/ equivalent degree here, if you have one. Do not include details of your pre university school education/ exam results.
