Eligibility Criteria for recruitment to Specialty Training – Immigration requirements:

All applicants will be requested to produce valid right to work documents. From 1 July 2021, EU/EEA citizens will need to either provide confirmation that they have obtained EU settlement or pre-settled status, have another valid right to work visa (e.g. dependent visa) or will need to apply for Skilled Worker sponsorship.

Medical practitioners are now part of the Shortage Occupation List and the Health and Care visa route is available to medical and dental practitioners. If you require sponsorship, it is important to be aware of the United Kingdom Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requirements.

From 6th October 2019 all medical practitioners have been added to the Shortage Occupation List in the UK. This means that all medical practitioners are exempt from the Resident Labour Market Test (RLMT) and can apply for any specialty in any recruitment round, subject to eligibility.

Further details can be found in the Medical Specialty Recruitment Applicant Handbook which can be found here:

https://medical.hee.nhs.uk/medical-training-recruitment/medical-specialty-training

If you are applying for an Academic Clinical Fellowship and require clinical benchmarking, you will be required to complete and submit both an academic application form and the associated clinical application form (which is a separate recruitment process) for the specialty in which you require clinical benchmarking.

Failure to apply to national recruitment (if applicable) will result in any offer of interview for Academic Clinical Fellow being withdrawn and your application being withdrawn from the recruitment process.
