Clinical Oncology ST3   

Applications are invited for a Clinical Oncology training programme at ST3 level across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. This is a national single selection centre co-ordinated by London and Kent, Surrey and Sussex Recruitment team.   

This is for completion of  CCT/ CESR (CP) subject to satisfactory progression.  

All applicants applying to medical specialties are required to have essential competences or equivalent depending on the level they are applying for. For more information on competences please refer to the national person specification on the medical speciality website.

Please note that there is a strict application policy that applications cannot be accepted after the deadline. 

The training programme is equally open to those who may, either from the outset or subsequently, wish to train flexibly or job share.

Self-Assessment    

You will be required to complete a self-assessment as part of your Oriel application. 

As part of the application process, you will be required to load supporting evidence to justify the self-assessment achievements you claim on your application form.  You should plan to have your documents ready to upload at point of application, the document upload window is available to view in the Clinical Oncology Applicant Guide.

Guidance will be available on Oriel on how to upload documents and it will be very important that applicants adhere to this to enable their evidence to be verified.

Eligibility Criteria for recruitment to Specialty Training – Immigration Requirements   

All medical practitioners are on the shortage occupation list, so all specialty recruitment applicants will be exempt from the resident labour market test.

Key dates & information

In the event that the volume of eligible applicants exceeds the interview capacity, applications will be shortlisted for the purpose of reducing the number of applicants invited to interview to a number for which we can accommodate interviews for.  

Interview dates: Monday 15th April – Tuesday 16th April 2024

Interview venue: Remote Interviews. Please ensure you have access to computer with a microphone and camera. Further instructions will be supplied should you be invited to interview.  

Posts commence from: August 2024

Interview process: All interviews will be held remotely. For more information, please refer to the Supplementary Handbook.

Length of interview: Approximately 30 minutes –  40 minutes  

Interview structure: A multi-station interview which will cover different criteria from the person specification. 

Preferencing Posts: Preferencing will be made available via Oriel in 2024. More information will follow at a later stage.

If you have made a positive declaration in the FTP section, you must contact London and Kent, Surrey and Sussex recruitment office via the support portal by the close of the application window. Failure to provide the outlined information by the close of application may result in your application being withdrawn.
