Information:

The Paediatrics National Recruitment Office (PaedsNRO) at NHS England – Midlands is coordinating the national process for recruiting trainees into Paediatrics ST1 posts in the United Kingdom. 

 

Paediatric Level 1 for ST1 Information

Paediatrics is the specialty that manages medical conditions affecting infants, children and young people. It is a large and diverse branch of medicine with areas ranging from acute sub-specialties such as neonatal medicine and paediatric intensive care to community-based sub-specialties such as neurodisability.

The expected outcome of the training programme is CCT/CESR/CESR CP, subject to satisfactory progression and completion. Information on the length of training programme (subject to level of entry) can be found on the RCPCH website.

Before applying please read the Person Specification to assess your suitability for the post.

In the event of further training opportunities becoming available within this specialty in any of the programmes managed by the Paediatrics National Recruitment Office, shortlisted candidates may also be considered for these posts.

All medical practitioners have been added to the Shortage Occupation List in the UK. This means that all medical practitioners are exempt from the Resident Labour Market Test (RLMT) and can apply for any specialty in any recruitment round, subject to eligibility.

The expected duration of the programme is 7 years however the actual duration may depend on the circumstances of the individual. 

Please note that the Paediatrics National Recruitment Office and NHS England – Midlands have a strict application policy and will not accept applications submitted after the submissions deadline. 

The Postgraduate Dean confirms that these placements and/or programmes have the required educational and Dean’s approval. The Training Programme is equally open to those who may, either from the outset or subsequently, wish to train less than full time or job share.
