NHS England working across the East Midlands is coordinating the national recruitment process for recruiting trainees into Paediatric Dentistry ST4 posts. There are currently between 3 and 8 anticipated vacancies commencing from September 2024.

Applications are invited for appointment to vacancies for Paediatric Dentistry posts. The training duration is 24 months for post-CCST posts however, the actual duration may depend on the circumstances of the individual.

Interviews will be held virtually on Thursday 16th May 2024.

Posts commence from Wednesday 4th September 2024.

The Postgraduate Dean confirms that these placements and/or programmes have the required educational and Dean’s approval. The Training Programme is equally open to those who may, either from the outset or subsequently, wish to train less than full time or job share.

Please be aware that although trainees’ preferences are considered when making decisions on placement, final decisions take into account the service needs of all sites within our training programmes.

Interview Process

Information on the interview process will be made available at a later date to applicants invited to attend interview.  All interviews will be held virtually.

When invited to interview, applicants will be informed of all documents that they are required to provide at the virtual interview.

Preferences

Pay Scales

Each nation is responsible for agreeing the pay points on their respective Dental Trainee salary scales.  These are subject to change due to national contract renegotiations and annual uplifts.

Applicants should familiarise themselves with the relevant pay circulars when applying for a training position. 

Salaries are not protected and can increase or decrease when moving between nations or into a more senior post (e.g. from Dental Foundation Training to Dental Core Training)

If there is any uncertainty, applicants should seek support from the local office responsible for the post regarding the starting salary for their position before they apply.
