Specialty Training Fill Rates - General Practice ST1

In 2024 99.53% of the 4,077 posts available in General Practice ST1 were filled. This is a slight increase in the fill rate compared to 2023 when 99.85% of 3,963 posts were filled.

At a national level the fill rates for 2024 are as follows:

  • England – 99.94% of 3,537 posts were filled (3,535 filled posts, 2 unfilled posts). 
  • Wales – 100% of 145 posts were filled. 
  • Northern Ireland – 87.6% of 121 posts were filled (106 filled posts, 15 unfilled posts). 
  • Scotland – 99.27% of 274 posts were filled (272 filled posts, 2 unfilled posts).
